Test site: Uchinoura Space Observatory (Hebetsuke-cho, Hepatsuke-gun, Kagoshima Prefecture)
Rocket to be launched: S-520-32
Scheduled date of experiment: Sunday, July 10, 2022, 23:00~24:00 (Japan Standard Time)
Outline of the experiment: [Observation of vertical and horizontal structure of electron density when ionospheric disturbance occurs] Disturbance of the atmosphere (plasma) in a region called the ionosphere at a height of 80 ~ 300 km from the ground (there is a shade of density) is a phenomenon that affects the position determination of smartphones and car navigation systems. In this experiment, we aim to observe the vertical and horizontal structure of plasma density using a measuring instrument mounted on a sounding rocket and to elucidate the mechanism of occurrence of this phenomenon.
* For the convenience of observation, the launch will be carried out before and after the full moon.
