Launch Result of S-310-44 Sounding RocketJanuary 15, 2016 (JST)
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched the S-310-44 sounding rocket from the Uchinoura Space Center on January 15 (Fri.), 2016, with the objective of “clarifying the heating phenomenon of ionospheric plasma”.
The flight went smoothly, and the S-310-44 dropped into the south eastern ocean off Uchinoura.

- Launch time (Japan standard time): 12:00 p.m.
- Elevation angle: 75.5 degrees
- Observation start (when the nosecone opened): 60 seconds after liftoff
- Highest altitude reached: 161 km (198 seconds after liftoff)
- Splashdown time: 388 seconds after liftoff
The weather at the time of the launch was cloudy, the wind speed was 2.0 meters/second, from the north, and the temperature was 8.0 degrees Celsius. With this launch, the experiment by the sounding rocket S-310-44 has been completed.

TEXUS-53 was launched from Esrange on January 23 (0830UTC).
The payload reached an altitude of 252,6 km and the flight was near to perfect with very low disturbances during the whole flight.

Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket launches with MUSIC - successful.
Was this the first Terrier-Imp. Malemute launch after the wrong installed igniter in 2014?

Any news on exports of the Imp. Malemute modification to Europe (DLR MoRaBA)?
I think the supply of Imp. Orion engines ({sea}hawk) is nearly dried up in Europe. If i'm not mistaken Germany and the Netherlands are updating their Patriot system. Possibly they fase out PAC-2.
In a DLR MoRaBa presentation about MIRIAM2 back in 2012 (
link), DLR showed their interest in the Imp. Malemute. I couldn't find more resent information.
Another rocket that can replace the Imp. Orion is Nammo's Nucleus (NorthStar) sounding rocket. A test launch is planned for the second half of this year.

A Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital sounding rocket was successfully launched at 7:05 a.m. EST, March 7, from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility. The rocket carried three space technology development projects. This was mission NASA 41.114NP.
This mission supported 3 experiments from the Flight Opportunity program of STMD. The experiment from Montana State University was a Radiation Tolerant Computer System (RadPC) provided by Brock La Meres. The experiment from Controlled Dynamics was the Vibration Isolation Platform (VIP) provided by Scott Green. SOAREX9 is the third experiment flying, provided by Marc Murbach, NASA-ARC.
The payload with the projects flew to an apogee of more than 99 miles as planned. The payload has been recovered and will be returned to Wallops today. Engineers will then be able to more closely analyze the results from their instruments.
