Direct link won't work. http://brevard.fl.scanamerica.us
It is the KSC trunked radio system on the left channel, which includes security, fire, launch ops, etc. The right channel is UHF/VHF from local airports, the STA, Coast Guard, and AF ops.
Weired as it works for me. I have it as link on my desktop and it always works.

Has anyone found a way to watch any NASA TV channels on an iPhone? As great as the device is, it doesn't play very many media files online. Not even the Quicktime link on the NASA TV page.
Not to shamelessly self promote, but if you download the Ustream app to your iPhone you can watch Spacevidcast Live on that app which is usually on either NASA TV, one of our shows, or a launch of sorts. When we go to live HD streaming I'm not sure if the iPhone will play that or not. We're usually only streaming HD during shuttle launches and landings though as the live HD media our there is... sparse to say the least.

Another NASA TV option for iPhone that does not involve an app is to use the website
http://iphone.akamai.com/This is a test setup by Akamai for the new iPhone 3 http video streaming. Seems like a pretty good quality even without WiFi enabled.
Mike
EDIT:: It appears you can also pause and use a 30 sec replay feature. Seems pretty nice.

-Astro COMM Checks with LD, NTD and Houston CAPCOM
- LD and NTD go/no polls and chat with the crew

Does anybody know how to download videos from NASA.gov's video galleries? They have it annoyingly set up such that videos play within the browser. There is no way to right-click and download.
Here's where I'm specifically wanting to download from:

Check the NASA YouTube pages for easier links.

PS Don't tag stuff, that's only for L2

Ah, thanks for the tip on the L2 tagging only.
I prefer downloading the videos from NASA.gov because they are of higher quality. You tube files are typically heavily compressed.

Nevermind. Orbit Downloader appears to do the trick.

If you use Firefox you can also get a nifty little add-on called "DownloadHelper" that will let you save them. For a few dollars, you can get some other add-ons to it that will let you convert to video into several different formats.

On the subject of pictures , is it just me or is there a deterioration in quality of the NASA TV streaming? My video is showing all straight lines as being braided and pixellated which I never used to get and generally an all round poor picture. See attached
I recently upgraded to 20Mbps from my ISP and I thought performance would improve.
Keith
PS Using WMP11.

Is there a better source for NASA TV programming?
I was watching the other day before leaving for Florida for the launch attempts this week and saw alot of very interesting programming. One such item was a question and answer session with Gene Cernan, then, they played footage of several of the Apollo missions. The only title and guide information was things such as Video File.
I'm sure there is quite a bit of programming that I would DVR from the NASA channel if there was a listing more descriptive than just Video File or some of the other generic titles they use.
Thanks

I am having trouble watching the 1200kbs on VLC -- I get a garbled image, then VLC shuts down (Windows XP) Seems to be a recent thing. I searched the VLC site, FAQ, etc. and don't see a fix. Is anybody else having a problem? I searched this site, but problems appear with older versions and are back in 2007 or so
I am running 0.8.6d

You're using an old beta - why not upgrade to the release v1 and retry?

I had the same problems with 0.8.6i on 2 computers and couldn't figure it out. Finally upgraded to 1.0.0 and it works. Which is weird because 0.8.6 always worked before, and I hate the interface of the new versions.

didn't realize a new version was available  I had heard of problems w/ the version that was out right after 0.8.6d, so I didn't bother to check. I will give it a try.
thx
EDIT: that did the trick -- I see it can check for updates now. Andrew, whats wrong w/ the interface?

Confusing - although I guess that's just because it's new. The options for "convert/save" are better now for the beginner user but I thought it was easier under the old interface.
Just takes time I guess.
