Seems like S0024 is in work as planned judging by these SCAPE techs that are walking around on the 0 Level of the MLP:

Yup, noticed that, too.
(was going to be silly and wonder if the crew was anxious to get a head start on their EVAs, but decided not to

)

Problem with a FRCS valve. Will be discussed tomorrow on either flight rationale or rollback and destack. Don't panic, they may get flight rationale pushed through. Meetings tomrrow will decided. We're monitoring on L2.

Do you know what the problem with the FRCS valve is? Is it a major problem?

If it's a major problem - they will decide to roll back. If not, they will leave her at the pad.

The first briefing tomorrow at 9 am Eastern is the program overviews, so we might get some idea of how big a problem this is by whether it is mentioned then.

I'm going to OPO to discuss flight rationale in the afternoon. We'll see how it goes. I'm fairly confident.

Robert Pearlman (CollectSpace) just asked Wayne Hale about this issue during the program overview briefing. Wayne said (I'm paraphrasing) that he doesn't think this will be a launch constraint.

Damn, totally missed it. Glad Robert asked, as I assume no one else did?!
Will wait for the John 44, but that's a good spread. I'll write up some of the documentation so we've all got the bases covered.

Interesting...Irene Klotz asked about the "point of no return" for the shuttle program in terms of reversing the policy of ending shuttle after FY 2010. Wayne Hale said something along the lines of he thought the "line in the sand" would be next summer (or thereabouts) when they retire or have to move the ET tooling at Michoud out to start Constellation work there. (Hope I got close on that...I already want to go back and listen to that again.)

psloss - that's correct. It's not a complete point of no return, but the expense to take the Ares tooling out then reinstall the shuttle-specific stuff would make it unviable.
And to add on to Wayne's answer about the valve - he said that there are enough redundant / reliable other pieces in the process, and they haven't had an issue in the "other" parts in the past, so that's why he is not worried about it being a constraint.
They are doing electrical testing (thanks L2 for the advance notice :> ) and if it is electrical it can be fixed in the next few days, otherwise they'll just launch as-is.
