Astronauts celebrated for 'terrific mission'
http://www.collectspace.com/news/news-110907a.html

Just a day after landing from their 15-day flight aboard space shuttle Discovery, the crew of STS-120 returned home to Houston on Thursday, where they were met by their NASA coworkers, family, friends, fans and the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

The newsreel on NASA TV is showing a heavily edited version of the event, is there a full video of it somewhere?
Hoping for a future of NASA manned spaceflight

He wasn't at the crew return ceremony itself, but as noted in the article:

Quote
The President, in town for other meetings, met the crew at Ellington Field as they were arriving from Florida and he was preparing to board Air Force One for San Antonio. Their meeting was private but Michael Coats, director of Johnson Space Center, shared some of Bush's words while introducing the astronauts to the assembled crowd.

In addition to the NASA photo we published showing Bush with Melroy, NASA has also posted a [different] photo to their STS-120 gallery:

And as I had them remaining, I posted additional transcribed comments from the crew that were unable to be used in the article to our message board thread about the homecoming:

Those crew comments are priceless! I can't believe that NASA TV isn't showing them.

They show a very brief and abridged version, but never the whole thing.  It's too bad.

The President attended a memorial service for the Columbia crew on February 4, 2003 at JSC.

He didn't show up in Houston to greet the crew, and didn't visit JSC. He flew in to Ellington on Air Force One for a private campaign fundraising event, and basically greeted the crew in passing on the tarmac.

A 5 min video of Bush meeting the STS-120 crew on the tarmac and posing for pictures has just aired on NASA TV.
