Space View Park

During our visit to Titusville and KSC during the STS-120 launch, we visited Space View Park.  Besides the Mercury memorial, there is now a Gemini memorial in addition to an Apollo.  The Apollo memorial is apparently still under construction as there are bolts for the plaques but no plaques yet.  All of the memorials are breathtaking.

See the below pics...

Great pictures.  I had hoped to see the monuments when we went to see STS-120...Space View Park is where we intended to go.  But it was considerably smaller than I had expected, and 4 hours before launch it was a zoo!  So we headed south down US1 in Titusville.

what's the parking like during a launch viewing there?

How's the view of the shuttle launch from there?

Parking - crazy.  We got there 4 hours before STS-118's launch (about 2:30 PM) and there weren't any spots in their lot.  They were sending people to a field across the street or telling them to come back at 4 PM when the bank next door closed to park there.

I'd think the view is the same from almost anywhere in Titusville.

We were planning on going to the park and did go there, but turned around when we got there, it was so chaotic.

My son and I visited it about 5pm on 10/23/07.  It was a very quiet park.  Not much parking that I saw.  The memorials are very beautiful, even the unfinished Apollo memorial.
