I was confused by that too, but I believe that's what he said.
dotdk - 30/10/2007 10:18 PM Another unclear thing for me was if the SSRMS could get an EVA crewmember out there and work with the blankets? Was the problem described in the briefing that it could be done, but it was not easy to move around because the arm would be at full length?
The arm cannot reach that far, I think at full lenght it would only reach about 1/3 of the SAW, if not less, and without much maneuverability, as you say. They'd have to retract most of the array, but that could worsen the problem, or make it reappear (remember we don't know what caused the rip in the first place) Maybe using the OBSS? But probably it's not remotely certified to do anything like that, and less being the SSRMS the one which grapples it.
Not an obvious solution to this one.

dotdk - 30/10/2007 9:36 PMWill the OBSS get power when they stow it at the station on a later mission?

michaelSN99 - 30/10/2007 10:25 PM great images robert...maybe it was already asked...but does anybody know what kind of material is the basis of the solar array blankets
Polyamide Kapton, according to this document.
