Mike S:
"We have accomplished all our major objectives.

"We are slightly ahead of schedule.

80 percent deloyed is where they saw the tear

"FCC is where it seems to have hooked up."

"Guidewire may be snagged.

"Teams are meeting right now to look at the pictures.

"HOWEVER, in the config we're in now, we're providing all the power we need, minus 3 percent. So we've not damaged the power wires (?)"

GREAT!!!

"We're good for all the ops we have planned. We could allow the Shuttle to leave and work on it (afterwards).

"We're tracking the sun from a beta perspective.

"We're in a very good config to sort this problem out.

I think he said 3% less than the other array, and all the power they need for all activities on this flight.

"We all agreed, as late as this morning, was to get P6 fully deployed, and if anything happened, it would be priority for EVA-4.

"So we'll talk about EVA-4 and EVA-5. What we need to accomplish, what the priorities are.

"So all of this is forward work. We've not had a lot of time to sort it out, but we'll discuss over the coming hours and days.

"We have around two more days (extra) of docked time with Discovery.

"Any day we extend, is a day we take out of the stage. So that will be a factor for the future.

"We like to be in a nice stable config while we sort out this problems.

Repeats what we've already heard about the SARJ.

Speaks of the bull gear..which is less likely to wear away - and would be harder to replace.

Trundle bearing is an option. Or living without a DLA, until replacement.

Currently EVA-4 is SARJ inspections.

"With the array tear, we'll have to reassess the whole effort - what will gain us the most power....and any request to extend the docked stage further."

Bill Harwood has 15 questions :)

On 122:

Mike S: "We can undock, but we've not checked into docking with Atlantis yet. We need to sort this out further.

Option of using OBBS for reach for Solar Array repair is not possible, but SSRMS is. Would need to retract the array a bit.

Not true.  It's not possible to use the OBSS from the end that the SRMS uses it but the OBSS can be used by the SSRMS from the center grapple fixture.  The real question is can they reach it and do it without the sensor package freezing.

keep up the good work ;)

The primary aim of EVA-4 is to inspect the SARJ, but they will attempt to clean it with a glove, sweeping upwards to avoid bunching of the debris.

Thanks, I'm just quoting Mike S, but appreciate clarifications!
