Don't worry Peggy.
This mission has gone brilliantly so far.
Just a couple of snags.

You can tell they're very very carefully choosing the words they're saying on the loops - Pambo's a class act when under pressure.

And I want everyone here to do the same. We're getting some REALLY stupid posts on here right now and we will delete them.

And I'd like to thank Chris (and any other moderators) for doing that.  There's been quite a few dope slap moments here in the past 2 hours.

Also, thanks to Richard / sts1canada for his text updates, I actually prefer them to the snapshots, but I've got access to an excess of live video :)

Sure thing. We'll delete this thread back soon, as there's a fair few pointless posts still.

Agree with the ISS Commander..  This mission is one of the - IF not the hardest ISS/Shuttle missions by far.  A tear like that is not  -and I repeat - NOT - going to severely impact ISS operations now nor in the future.  AS stated a few posts back - it's a loss of 1 or 2 strings in a multi-multi string solar array.  Truthfully - I deal with this same sort of solar array string loss issue from time to time in the satellites I operate.  We survive them - and quite well.  Since you always plan for your arrays to provide an access of power in the beginning of mission - in order to correctly support a mission throughout it's lifetime, you always allow for some form of array string failure(s) into the lifetime picture of the spacecraft -as well as you do allow battery cell failures to occur from time to time.  ISS will provide a work-around for this - they will deal.  They and Shuttle folks are used to dealing with all sorts of things - planned and unplanned for.  Off my box....
Former Shuttle Mission Ops Eng  (In them days DF24 - INCO GROUP/COMMS, Now DS231-AVIONICS BRANCH).

Compare with the damage to the spektr solar array:

Apples and oranges...kind of like the first generation arrays on HST vs. the ones added on SM-3B.

On an unrelated topic, is the MSB still scheduled for 2:30 EST, or is it being pushed back to allow for more time to analyze what's been happening today

It's difficult to tell with the light reflection, but just before they changed the gimble on the array (just now), it looked like the very first panels out of the box had some deformation too. Anyone else get a good view?

No, I thought PAO said there will be MSB the next minute

I've been calling JSC PAO re a briefing and they tell me as of now the next one is not scheduled. But now they say it WILL be on schedule!!

BTW: What is the current attitude control status of the ISS?

Don't they go free drift for SA deploy? Or just gyrodine control?

They aborted at the 25 bay mark. And the mast has 31 bays. So they aborted with only 5 more bays to go.

Thanks for your patience with the thread. I know everyone wants to have a say, but we need to keep it on live status on the flight day.

I'll try and transcribe key quotes from the MSB.
