This is the array that was folded up back on 116. Wasn't there some speculation that they may have damaged this array?

That was when they performed the "Beamer and Christer" shakes.

1 minute to East handover, 34 minutes to sunset, 37 minutes to the ZOE.

Even if this could somehow be "fixed" by an EVA crew I don't know how they would get to this worksite.

I don't think anyone is to blame.  This is a highly complex and delicate piece of space hardware.  Pardon the phrase, but s*** happens.  They'll get it taken care of.

I'm fairly certain the SSRMS can reach that far.  The problem would be stabilizing the EVA crewmember enough to do the repair.  Even then, I don't know if there's a plan for this sort of fix.  I say we wait for more info.

If they really REALLY wanted to get some EVA hands on it - they might be able to do something with Canadarm 2 and the OBSS - but I'm not sure how possible that is - which ever way you get them out there, they'd wobble around a fair amount and if you're looking at touching tiny cables...eek.

Obviously everyone would rather such things didn't happen at all - but it's going to make for interesting activity over the next few days.

You are right, this problem is in one of the worst possible spots, away from the blanket box, neither  SSRMS or SRMS can reach this area for an EVA crew to help out.

Well, considering that we installed the array at this end just today, couldn't we conceivably bring the worksite to them?

Is the deployment speed for an array fixed or can they slow it down/speed it up?

The Moon first; she's right there, made of stuff we need, and it moves us to a two planet species.

Good idea from MCC - take lots of photos, then they'll rotate the BGA a bit to a new angle so lots more photos can be taken.

Looks like a cable got caught - might be interesting to see what happens when they release it. Waiting for the array to be rotated to get a side view.....should also be interesting!
