Ooooo, that's not good. That's the last thing we need.

As I understand it, blanket boxes are ORUs.  This should be replaceable.

We're going to have a couple of snap judgments here and quick speculation, though I figure the big minds will figure this out...

That said, can the panels still provide some power with a break like this or does this hurt the entiere system...

And another quick assesment... Is there a backup array in the wings if need be (My initial thought is no....)

10 minutes to East handover, 43 minutes to sunset.

25 bays deployed, 6 left to go before this problem appeared.

No. And it would a long and very complicated EVA to R&R a half-extended solar array blanket.

Wonder if they got bit by a wire fray getting caught.

As I understand it, blanket boxes are ORUs.  This should be replaceable.

So conceivably, it should be a matter of removing the blanket box and presumably safely releasing a la the Hubble and replacing with a new unit, if one exists?

Yes. Well it has been in orbiot fully deployed for over half a decade so even with minor MMOD hits it can still generate power...but this is much bigger

Is the array structurally stable when not fully deployed?  How about electrical connectivity?

It appears one of the guide wires that is frayed has hung up on something and tore the array a little as it flipped back on something.
