Here are a couple more shots from the RH SRB camera - one from the skirt facing camera and one from the nose facing camera:
I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

And a tank-facing camera too?  The views are amazing!

EDIT: make that 2 tank-facing cameras... I never knew they had those!

Is it just me, or did guidance seem to wander around a lot more than usual?

It seemed to roll around a bit more than usual.  Probably just wind.

Yeah, I was thinking wind shear or something like that -- I wouldn't chalk that up to guidance wandering.

Hopefully Mark or Jorge or Jim are around and can fill in with details on first stage guidance (or maybe that's been answered in one of the Q&A threads already).  Anyway, I believe guidance doesn't converge (become "closed loop") until second stage (OPS 103).

Got a couple of screenshots from that SRB tank facing camera for everyone.  P.S. Are there any plans for HD cameras on board the ET or SRB's???

Yeah...that's what I meant - not the control system screwing up, just getting perturbed from outside (wind shear, for example).

Actually, I think the LO2 feedline fairing camera is HD...and I thought I heard audio when the 118 crew played a short excerpt during their presentation at the beginning of the month...either of those "additions" would be interesting.

I'll finish out my photo postings with another SRB camera shot and a shot of ISS and Discovery.  Note the P6 truss below the orbiter payload bay.

What chance is there for an extended mission and an extra EVA ? In case an EVA-6 was necessary to deal with the SARJ problem.

If I understood the press conference correctly, the team said that they had some time to deal with the issue.  I believe 5 EVA's is the maximum that a shuttle flight has done, and I also remember reading/hearing that there were some time constraints for the stage EVA's and next flight, which is why they don't want to extend the mission too long.

Re: SARJ issue.. my impressions so far are that this is NOT a critical issue at this time. There is plenty of time to troubleshoot and analyze this and IF something needs to be swapped out they seem to have all the spares they need on orbit. No need to rush this.

In fact I might hazard my own guess - based on the press conference - they said that the current draw indicating resistance has recently been trending down. It is quite possible that some debis got ground up in there thus creating the shavings and that it is in the process of cleaning itself out through use. Obviously this is one of many possible options but I get the impression that this could be something very simple to cure down the road and even if it is a major failure, they have spares to work a repair on some future mission....

No urgency here...

They've talked about extending by one day and possibly deferring the T-Rad DTO to another flight and doing repairs on EVA-4.  Check back a few pages for notes from the Status Briefing.

I think the more detailed SARJ R&R EVA would be worth doing if there were spare parts at hand - are there ORUs for SARJ currently on orbit? And also, it would be nice to have an understanding about the problem so that the cause of the problem gets fixed too, so that the newly-repaired SARJ wouldn't get the same problem because of totally non-SARJ related reason.

Now that the crew is alseep, and looking ahead to FLight Day 7, what time are the Starboard ETCS radiators set to be deployed tomorrow?

If I just heard correctly they said they would be doing this about 15 minutes before or after crew wakeup which I think is around 11:15 or so tonight.

IF EVA 4 becomes R&R for the SARJ, remember that it is still a few days away.  Time enough for the ground teams to look at the pics that Dan took of the SARJ, and time for the crew to examine the shaving samples he brought back in as well.  Should be time to come up with some kind of theory or repair plan or decision to continue analysis.

No, all they are talking about is some varying degrees of more inspections of the current SARJ configuration.  Any R&R for the parts of the SARJ they were looking at today would be a worst-case scenario, a major task, and Bill Harwood quoted Mike Suffredini as saying that would require "multiple spacewalks."
