Why didn't they attach the Harmony node to its final position?
Ehh, that is on the forward end of the Destiny Lab which is where Discovery is currently docked!

When I first hear this, I wondered why they didnt simply just do like they did on sts-88 (take the module and dock it on the ods, then pull the zarya on to the other end.)  However, now I realize that the ISS is much bigger and complex, and there might be reasons why the PMA-2 could not be attached in the cargo bay (not to mention how the shuttle and station would have to fly in formation so close for a handoff of the PMA), so I guess that wont work.

ICEINK - 26/10/2007 5:08 PM Do you think they will have a way to creat a glove over a glove (outer layer) that is replaceable while on EVA?

Would you believe it, they actually have! It's in documents on L2 and I think Chris has written something about it. It's a kind of overglove for the palm and finger joints, but won't be used unless deemed really necessary.

Gloves for gloves???  :)

ICEINK, you asked about that on L2, and I've linked up the presentations for you.

If I heard correctly, around 30 minutes out from finishing bolting on Harmony!  They would like to do leak checks at 1700 GMT.

Whitson is doing a great job of walking them through the decontamination procedure.  Nice job.  263.2 is the pressure.

Ground is happy.  Glove heaters off.  Gloves clean aside from residual smudge marks.
