When you try to talk sense into a moon hoax comment section......
There's no really winning with those people [...] You can present them with cold, hard and clearly present facts - but they have already made their minds up.

You don't do it to convince them, you do it for the less committed people reading them. Letting them go unopposed means only people who already understand science can see the ridiculous errors, whereas if you can point out the errors, especially really obvious ones, even if you don't completely convinced them, you've sown the seeds of doubt and given them permission to be skeptical about the claims of the believers.

You're relaxing in your rocking chair and your dog is sleeping on the couch, and you think "She looks oddly familiar...."

You've read all 61 pages of this thread. And you notice the lack of posts durring the FH Demo launch windows, till a week later. I also find myself strangely jealous of post 175.

Well, you know your a space suit geek when you can't watch the movie "Armageddon" primarily because of the use of blue suits and no gloves on the costumes made for the movie. Seriously, the sleeves go to the wrists in the movie with no locking rings! Ah, the horror!

 :o
When you've done the the NASA thing while watching Armageddon, and counted all the impossible things.

When, upon pulling into the garage, your wife says in a frustrated tone of voice:  "Please don't say 'OK engine stop, ACA out of detent, mode control both auto'..."

My reply would be " I don't need to because you just said it".

Kills me every time. Especially Steve Buscemi rebranded "bad teeth guy" (in fact I actually browse Google "bad teeth guy" just to find the link !)

As a kid at school I knew more than my teachers about the Apollo program (ok I am not young anymore ;)!)

I got to visit other classes to explain it!

Yup - though I'm in South Auckland, New Zealand. The picture is the One Tree Hill Monument that at night was visible through my old kitchen window, looking like a rocket on a pad, lit by floodlights.

When your former room (at Mom's house) has become your kid room when visiting his grandmother.
Yet the extended fleet of 1/72 scale spacecrafts and aircrafts is still there - so your kid kind of sleep into a miniature aerospace museum.

And he starts to get interested in the models, by the way (the other day I placed a silver B-58 into his tiny hands... he was extatic)

whenever someone brings up an Apollo Hoax you are triggered to the point of needing to resist taking three hours of your time converting the lost soul.

(Managed to save the neighbor this way, but realize for some there is no arguing with a crazy mind)

You've actually convinced someone? Thank you for your service to humanity!
