YEAH!! Seeing this thread just made me realize how close we are to another launch! (Not that rollout and rollover weren't big enough clues)

Are they still planning on launching on a Tuesday morning at 11:38 a.m.  I'm sure it will launch safely but just  makes me shudder briefly...STS-51L was a Tuesday morning at 11:38 a.m.

It's all good.  It's all part of the program and there's plenty of time to get this bird off the ground with negatively impacting the processing flows in 2008.  Even if STS-120 is delayed and pushes STS-122 in January 2008, STS-123 and STS-124 can still launch on time.  STS-125 might be pushed back a little bit but not by much, and that shouldn't affect the following flights mich, if any.

Good luck, Discovery!  Godspeed, and here's to a great mission.  Cheers!

I probably will not be able to see much if this mission, except on the weekends.  I love missions that launch at 5 PM or later, or have cool stuff at that time (launch, landing, EVA's, so on)..

Ah well, my troubles mean nothing.  Good luck and Godspeed, STS-120 and Discovery!

I know what you mean, Ford.  I haven't had to "time-shift" a launch for awhile, but I'm afraid I might have to on this one.

I've just realized a bit of good news...I can in fact watch this launch from 15 minutes before hand until about 10 minutes after.

Only problem is I'm limited to CNN. :(

I'll probably end up going through the flight day thread later while playing back the video.

I'm cool with NASA PAO, but news anchors from CNN, Fox, NBC, etc. drive me nuts.  They talk as if they have a clue about what's going on.  Few do, and they're never on the air during launches.
