Few more GSE leaks in work, but nothing major. On the timeline for launch.

We will start the Launch Day (Attempt 1) thread soon.

It's not online, it's a new addition to NASA's satellite feed on AMC-5 (which is how your cable company gets it).  I learned today that it's actually still considered an engineering test.  Anyway, you need serious equipment to pull it in (i.e. "Big Ugly Dish").

Edit:  yes, C-band satellite

Are they going to turn the xenon lights on any time soon at the pad?

Live views start at 12:00 AM EDT, so probably between 11 PM and 12 AM EDT.  Not sure if 'soon' qualifies for that.. They may turn them on sooner, but I'm just saying what I heard already.

Ok folks. As we head towards tanking at 2am, we'll move to the launch day thread. Will set it up in about an hour.

Everything is looking good with Discovery at the moment.

Edit:  yes, C-band satellite

give me a KU feed please, like its 2007.. time to get with the times.. AMC-5 is no issue, it the 4GHz thats don't work.. I guess we will need to wait until 2010 for KU HD... but 119 will do quite well for now.. and HDNET will be covering it as well..  wonder if this site could get exclusive HD coverage?

The C-band is basically the network feed...it's what the cable/satellite companies get the signal from.  Because it's not encrypted you can get it yourself.

119's Ku is not controlled by NASA.  It's actually a Dish Network broadcast on one of Echostar's satellites (119) and it's used for Dish Network subscribers.  However, they don't encrypt NASA TV, so anyone can pick it up for free.

I doubt this site could get HD coverage as I think there is an exclusive agreement with HDNet.

Anyway, back on topic...
