We're still checking into this on L2, but there may be a problem relating to RCC panels and the need to replace them. Standby for more later.

Not meaning to jump on the bandwagon too early, but, could an RCC panel replacement be done at the pad or would that cause a rollback and demate?

It would cause a rollback IF it happens.

Just standby. Flow is red on this, but the FRR is green with the flight proceeding. We're going through a lot of info on L2, so standby and I'll report what we get. I think the one body with the RCC "Red" may be over cautious and could well be overruled by SSP.

Is there a time set for the retraction of the RSS for Thursday's APU hotfire test?

APU = Auxillary Power Units. Hydraulic units that provide the necessary hydraulic pressure to operate the aerosurfaces, landing gear, SSMEs, nosewheel steering and landing gear brakes.

Going to write an article on the situation with the RCC panels. As of right now the call is to proceed to launch, but there is a reccomendation to replace three RCC panels on Discovery (which would obviously be no go for launch in the Oct/Nov window).

It will be an MMT call. Hopefully they can still proceed. As soon as we know, via L2, we will copy it across here.

I trust that if their is a strong recommendation to replace the panels, they will. Wayne Hale has always said schedule WON'T take precedence over mechanical.

Could someone clairfy what the issue is with the RCC panels?

I just hope they make the right decision. I don't care if that's overrulling the request for replacement or rolling back and replacing the panels.

And I've completely lost track of this and can't seem to find it now so... when is the FRR for this flight?

If they do swap RCC and requires rollback and de-mate.. would/could they gain any time by switching orbiters and use Atlantis for STS-120(if available earlier)? Then use Discovery for STS-122.

That would be nice--but the payload bays of both vehicles have already been configured for the specific payloads.
Three Engines onboard Endeavour have now throttled back to 2/3rds throttle to prepare the spacecraft to pass through the area of maximum dynamic pressure and to go supersonic
