The interceptor, which is basically a Pegasus without wings, lifted off from Vandenberg AFB LF-23 at either 20:16 or 20:18 UTC, depending on source.

The Pegasus without wings is a great simplification. Just say it uses the same motors as Pegasus and you would be correct. It really is very different in all other systems

not even this would be correct, as the first stage of the OBV has thrust vecttor control, whereas the Pegasus first stage has not.
Good catch. Plus there is no wing attachment hardware on the motor.
Why does the Pegasus stage 1 not need TVC?
Because it has aerodynamic steering by its movable fins
