An Orbital Sciences GMD Boost Vehicle (Orbital Boost Vehicle) successfully intercepted a Polaris/STARS target missile on September 28, 2007, scoring the second Ground based Mid-Course Defense system operational intercept. The target launched from Kodiak. The interceptor, which is basically a Pegasus without wings, lifted off from Vandenberg AFB LF-23 at either 20:16 or 20:18 UTC, depending on source.

The Pegasus without wings is a great simplification. Just say it uses the same motors as Pegasus and you would be correct. It really is very different in all other systems -

not even this would be correct, as the first stage of the OBV has thrust vecttor control, whereas the Pegasus first stage has not.

Good catch. Plus there is no wing attachment hardware on the motor.
