Forum alignment, improvement and advice

Ok, we've slightly expanded the forum, and we'll be getting some improvements in the appearance soon.

Here's some things we've changed:

Missions:

Unmanned space flight will now be by launch vechicle (so we can preview it better and follow the mission from there).

News Wire:

If you see a story of interest, place the headline into the title and post the URL *Only* - unlike some sites we respect writer and site copyright - (It is the law after all).

After a few days, I'll then move it to the relevant thread.

Post as many as you wish, even if this site has covered it. We want to have a complete service here.

Any advise and suggestions can be posted here.

Also, we will soon have an unlimited FTP server installed for downloading videos from NASA and from affiliate artists. Users can post their selections from their own video collections and I will do likewise (and I've got one hell of a collection :) )

Chris, how about creation of threads, devoted to Soyuz TMA and Shen Zhou manned space flights? :)

Yeah! I was wondering where to stick them. Maybe a second Manned Space Flight section other than the STS.

I agree. We need Soyuz at least, especially with the Shuttle back on the ground for a while again. I love the Russian Space Flight info.

Chris:

What is the difference between the graphic on the left column when MB is brown/bronze vs greyed out?  Maybe a legend on the forum home page that explains the graphics for newbies like me?

Thanks

I use a few forums so thought i could help, they aint really that interesting but the ...

! brown/bronze button means A new, popular, open thread

! grey button means A new, open thread

MB grey button means an open thread

MB brown/bronze means a popular open thread.

There are other graphics for frozen threads but i dont think any have been frozen on here.

I'd recommend a General Discussion Forum, hidden from non-Member view.  That really helps increase posting in other forums too, and promotes board friendliness, as people get to know eachother better.

Also, a forum for General Space may be useful for anything space-related, that does not particularly fit another forum's description.

Other than that, it looks great!!

Welcome to the site and we'll look into that (I've got a few things to do before that).
