I don't know if this has been answered in prior threads, but how soon after launch of the Shuttle can humans physically be present at the launch pad?  Would this be different for Saturn V (or any other liquid-based booster)?  I'd guess with shuttle having perchlorates as a residue from the SRBs that this might cause a more toxic environment for clean-up of the pad?  I'm sure in the event of a launch disaster, humans would be at the pad very quickly, but what's the absolute quickest that it would be safe to do so?

Fastest I've gotten into the pad after launch since I've been here has been about an hour or so. That's after Safety drives out there and does their Perchlorate TVC checks and verifies it's within safe levels.
