New Space Colonization Movement Site Now Open!

Hails!  :)

This is a call for members of this site to come and share their cosmic-related dreams, experiences and ideas, with The Space Colonization Movement (The SCM), as well, at our new upgraded location on a phpBB2. We look forward to hearing what you have to say, hearing about what other groups are working on, and seeing you in on this grand project...

http://scm.x.am

We would love it if members here would come and share what perspectives you have, especially also stances of other space advocacy groups, so that we continue to diversify the points of view, and amount of ideas, but while, of course, you remain an avid member here still. The SCM is non-profit, non-corporate, and an alliance of people interested in furthering our space colonization dreams, and we are far beyond driven to achieve those. Obviously our ultimate aim is the colonization of space and alien worlds, but of course we also focus on the wide range of stepping stones that lead to that.

Our main topics right now are formulating and mobilizing for an Earth-orbitting super space station, colonization of the Moon, and Mars, and pushing on throughout Sol Arium after that. We mobilize around the space lobby, space agencies & corporations, and feed all the grassroots of space advancement every way we see possible, including increasing space education in schools, getting more corporate & private involvement in space, and many other ways, encouraging participation from all walks of life, including space enthusiasts, kids, students, all the way up to space agency employees, scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, corporate owners, and all those interested in being a part of this movement.

We have tons of reliable, dedicated resources available for you and feature news and info from a wide range of sites, including a vast array of official press releases and other resources from space agencies, space advocacy groups, space studies at universities, and space news organizations, and all things related to space at all. We are privvy to a lot of resources that do not penetrate the mainstream either, from many organizations, and frequently get to you before anyone.

The SCM also features a massive barrage of images from space, sounds, video, etc., in the Space Media forum, but our main focus remains on formulating and activating space advancement related goals, especially in the Featured SCM Discussions & Polls forum. We have a number of forums that also focus on the stepping stones to space colonization, like Observatories & General Astronomy, Remote Spacecraft, Space Travel, Space Tourism, Manned Space Missions, Space Stations, Space Mining, Space Colonization, Terraforming, as well as a few other topical forums, like General Space News, General Science News, and Alien Life. Then we further regionalize another category of forums to focus on certain locales of space, including Miscellaneous Orbs, and each of the 9 Sol Arium planetary systems, from Mercury all the way out to Pluto, plus one for Sol Arium in general, and Exosolar Systems, our Milky Way galaxy, Exogalaxies, and The Multiverse. Also, we host a wide-open, non-space General Category, which includes General Discussion, General Music, and General Media, as well as a few Administrative forums. There is a SayBox for Chat, that you can instantly chat through on general terms within. Finally & presently, our last main function is our Affiliate Forums category, including some linkable banners to high-end Space Agencies, Space Advocacy Groups, and Space News sites, as well. And we also bear of course all the fancy tools of a phpBB2 forum, and this address will soon be automatically upgraded to a phpBB3, and be even more effective. So that covers what we are all about, and our capabilities, thus far.

This promo about the new site beckons the Grand Opening of it. We have only been open to a few of the ex-members of the previous site, so far, and all is now ready to go. Most threads have been moved to the new site, but being on a phpBB2 has dramatically increased our capabilities, so we have many more features and functions to cater to the membership, and that is why we moved in the first place. With the phpBB2, we also have a Ranks system, based on total posts, and can rank space professionals and leaders as VIPs, as well as edit pretty much all of the site, and adapt to the group's evolving needs.

I am sure that if you give a look over to the site, sign up, and gander about a bit, you'll see an immense improvement since the upgrade, and that will continue to develop, as was mentioned, in every way. Please check us out soon, and partake in the Space Colonization Movement, and help make all our dreams a reality.

And thanks to the Administration of this site for allowing this promo to be posted, please have someone PM me at our site, and we will add your space-related site in our master links.

Thanks, Take Care, and Have A Good One...& HERE'S TO THE INFINITE!!!

This works for here as that's a very big forum and lots of spacey stuff. This site is Shuttle and Space Flight specific, so there's some nice crossover there I'd say.

Maybe they could send the Shuttle fans here and we'll send the planet fans there?

Cool, and Good.  I find that's the case, and the few top space forums and sites share tons of members.  Hope to see you there!!  I will be here quite a bit too, and back and forth...

Here is a little update of what's been happening with the SCM the last couple weeks...

Okay, so right now, the group is just about up to 70 members, and still growing solidly.  The Old MSN Group location had 165 members, so there still remain many to check that, and make it here.  Good to see tons of brand new people, as well!  Lots of people that are very knowledgeable about space, young people, and Metallers, especially!!  Some final additions are still going on, and we have added an encrypted Area 52 forum, and diversified the General Category a bit, adding forums for Music, Movies, Sports and Video Gaming, since they crosspollenize well pretty much anywhere.  Also, the Affiliate Banner Zone has been reconfigured to display the affiliate links rotating horizontally, taking up one mere row, instead of stationarily stacking them, taking up 25% of the Main Index length.  Also, the encryted Chatterbox, SayBox has been finalized and is going pretty well.  And of course, there are full updates of everything going on, as always, and tons of media to peruse...

Hope to see you there, if you have not, and thanks to all that have so far!!
