I can't make it out either.
The closer I get to 50 the less "resolution" I seem to have.

Is the plan for today (after te EVA) to break-in the SARJ and start to rotate that thing. Or are they going to wait untill computers are 100% stable?

I believe they are going to activate the SARJ tomorrow after the attitude control testing.
Zachstar - 17/6/2007 11:56 AMNo camera, just the stanchion (the stand for it), I believe. If there were a camera to install also, they would have brought it with them from the airlock.
Ok they have the camera in tow and are heading out to the worksite on the S3/S4 truss!
The last time a camera was installed PAO was able to get a view from it pretty quick. So we ought to be able to get a nice view of the work on the launch restraints.

They will rotate the SARJ on S3/S4 5 degrees (out of a 360 degree circle) later today after the EVA and then sometime tomorrow put it in sun track mode where it will track the sun and rotate as needed.

Scheduled today was the move of the Mobile Transporter (MT) from Worksite 7 (WS7) to WS8, then back to WS4.
I belatedly realize that I am really fuzzy on where the train stations are located on the Space Station Railway! I believe WS4 is on S0 and WS7 is on P1.... can someone list the various MT worksites and where they are? Is there a document or a diagram that describes them? (and pushing it, does someone have a historical timeline of
MT positions since it was installed?)

Hi Dave, I did not mean to say that we were at a PET of 5:45, I meant that at a PET of 5:45 MCC-H wants the EVA crew to work on the H2 vent valve open ops. That PET was called up to the crew from MCC-H, as I am tracking three things at the time (STSPLUS, NASA TV and this thread) my explanation was not clear, sorry.

They are really strugling with that shield!
Chris Bergin - 17/6/2007 4:17 PM
The tetheres were a temp measure, as seen in the plans for EVA-4, they are going to attempt to install the shield's bolts today. If that doesn't work then they'll have to go with the tethers, but as to why it's been problematic...I don't think the reasons have yet been noted.
jmjawors - 17/6/2007 11:20 PMDzus fasteners will not engage unless aligned perfectly. There is no leeway. So it's surprising that such a fastener was used on the shields. Bolts would have been better IMHO.
As far as the reasons for the difficulty, there was a little blurb in last night's press conference about it. Apparently J.R. was overheard speculating that the shield was simply not made correctly.
That's a bit of hearsay, though.

How does the SRMS reach past the s4 truss structure to manuver the s5 and s6 to the end? I think the mobile base only goes as far as the s3. thats gotta be a prettty long reach, unless it has some sort of extension?
