NASA Announces Space Station Spacewalk Briefing & TV Coverage
The first spacewalk for the Expedition 12 space station crew is the subject of a 2 p.m. EST media briefing on Thursday, Nov. 3 from NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston. It will air live on NASA TV with questions taken from media at participating NASA centers.
Participants:
Pete Hasbrook, Increment 12 Manager; Sally Davis, Lead Expedition 12 Flight Director; Anna Jarvis, Expedition 12 Extravehicular Activity Officer; Julie Robinson ISS Program Science Representative
Expedition 12 Commander Bill McArthur and Flight Engineer Valery Tokarev space walk on Nov. 7. The 5.5 hour event begins at approximately 9:30 a.m. EST and airs live on NASA TV beginning at 8:30 a.m. EST. It is the first spacewalk in U.S. spacesuits from the Quest Joint Airlock since April 2003.
The crew has two primary tasks. They will install a camera on the port side of the station's horizontal truss structure and remove an old experiment from the solar array truss on top of the facility. If time permits, they may remove faulty hardware and prepare for future work outside the station.

Chris, I hope we will get a NASA TV, blow by blow series of images on the site, as I now can't get NASA TV on the net at work... I am hoping that spaceflightnow will cover it, but the coverage here is always better.. ;)
My backup option is always http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/shuttle/countdown/video/chan2large.jpg

Hey, Avron, see if this link will work for you:
http://www.unitedspacealliance.com/live/nasatv.htm
It uses a U.S.A. site RealPlayer link, and plays NASA TV in the browser window. It's fairly low speed, but decent quality.

This one works for me:

Windows Media.

thanks ... will try the links, but I think the firewall will prevent any streaming.

If it doen't allow UDP streams, see if changing the stream transport to HTTP-only will work. (In RealPlayer it's in the Preferences/Network Transport section, and under Network in Media Player's Options).

So far everything continues on schedule for today's EVA. Both is now in the crew lock area of Quest and the hatch between the equipment lock and th crew lock was closed a few minutes agao. Depressurization should begin shortly.

Looks like the sun will rise shortly
-
So much for the test procedures... ''Airlock repressurization"
-
Time for a walk.. an Hour late

Both out
-
camera on route
-
The spacewalkers have worked together to firmly attach the camera to the stanchion in advance of bolting it to the station
-
Tokarev is hooking up the camera umbilical cables to the P1 truss, electrically connecting the camera to the station
-
stowing the motor controller back in Quest..
Anik.. we both missed the controller removal..
-
Translation.. next work site..P6 truss - probe jettison
-
Awaiting orbital sunrise - on top of the world with PFF ready to go..
-
Clean your boots sir?
-
Sunrise and time to toss out the FPP
-
Bye bye FPP
-
PFF away
-
Time to get down from atop P1
