Title: Cabin Prep for EVA
Post by: AS_501 on 09/18/2023 06:11 pm
While watching Tom Mattingly's EVA (for film cannisters) on Apollo 16, I wondered what kind of cabin preps were/are needed before depressurization, on any vehicle (Gemini, Apollo, Soyuz, Dragon, etc.).  In particular, I was wondering about any bagged food or drink packs, liquid waste bags, or anything like that.  Are they stowed in a some kind of pressurized locker before depress?

Similarly, are fluid experiment samples returning on Dragon protected from an emergency cabin depress?

Thx

no pressurized locker.  Food was in vacuum seal bags.  there was no drinks other than water and flavoring,
