I was looking up the Delta IV Medium and H-IIA rockets and saw their respective fairings are 4 meters in diameter. The fairings also vary in mass with the Delta IV Medium's being way heavier.
H-IIA: 1,400 kg
Delta IV Medium: 2,800 kg

My question is: could the lighter H-IIA fairing have fitted on the 4-meter Delta IV second stage? If not, why?

not enough info to make a determination. Does the H-IIA use a PAF and total encapsulation. Is the PAF interface the same dimensions and bolt hole pattern as the Delta IV ?

I made a comparison photo of both fairings, using their respective launch user's guides as sources.
Edit: Added comparison photo of both payload adapters.
