Title: SpaceX Equipment I.D.
Post by: moabdds on 02/26/2022 04:34 pm
I recently (Jan 2022) drove by the SpaceX Starbase at Boca Chica and took a picture of a piece of equipment there that I can't identify.  Does anyone know what this is?  It was in the assembly area of the facility.

Also, does anyone know which Starship prototypes these are?  One has a larger area of heat shielding visible.  I'd like to post these pictures on my website and would like to correctly identify them

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's a can crusher test tool or some sort, presumably for simulating the load at vehicle fully fueled

The one with more heat shield is SN16, and its sibling is SN15
