At 7:44 on January 26, my country successfully launched the Land Exploration-1 01 Group A satellite (L-band differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar satellite A) using the Long March 4C carrier rocket at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The satellite has the characteristics of all-weather, all-day, multi-mode, multi-polarization, etc. It can meet the basic geographic information acquisition needs of land resources, earthquakes, disaster prevention and mitigation, surveying and mapping, forestry, etc., and accelerate the formation of rapid response capabilities for major disasters. Global goals such as sustainable development provide technical support for space observation.
The Land Exploration-1 01 satellites are scientific research satellites in the "National Civil Space Infrastructure Medium and Long-term Development Plan (2015-2025)". Both satellites are equipped with L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payloads, with a variety of imaging modes, with a maximum resolution of 3 meters and a maximum observation width of 400 kilometers. It will make full use of the long wavelength of L-band radar and the characteristics of penetrating ability in vegetation areas, which can solve the problem of early identification of disaster hazards in areas with complex conditions and difficult to reach by ground investigation, providing wide coverage, high density of measurement points, and high frequency of repeated observations. The two-star in orbit can carry out two flight modes: follow-up flight and orbital flight. It operates on the same return orbital plane in follow-flight mode, with a phase interval of 180 degrees. It has the ability to observe repeated orbits for a single star for 8 days and a double star for 4 days. The differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar deformation measurement technology is used to obtain multi-scenario images before and after ground subsidence changes. Perform data processing, extract deformation information, and effectively support application requirements such as ground subsidence, landslides, ground subsidence, and earthquake deformation. In the flying formation mode, the interferometric synthetic aperture radar can achieve high-precision ground elevation measurement through high-precision phase, time, and space synchronization between satellites. The satellite project will promote the independent control of such data in my country, and significantly reduce the reliance on foreign data for industries such as geology, earthquakes, and emergency response.
The National Space Administration is responsible for the organization and management of the satellite project, the organization and coordination of major events, and the approval of launch licenses. The Ministry of Natural Resources is the main user unit, and the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and other user departments are responsible for the construction and operation of the application system. China Resources Satellite Application Center, The Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is responsible for the construction and operation of the ground system, the Shanghai Aerospace Technology Research Institute of the Aerospace Science and Technology Group is responsible for the overall development of the satellite system and the carrier system, and the China Satellite Launch Measurement and Control System Department is responsible for the organization and implementation of the launch site and the measurement and control system.
