Hi there,

Making a new thread for the launch of the MX 1E? (http://www.moonexpress.com/robotic-explorers/mx-1-scout-class-explorer/) Scout Class Explorer aboard the Electron rocket.

I'm not completely sure on the exact name/configuration of the spacecraft:

Gunters specifies a MX 1E (http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sdat/mx-1e.htm) which is also mentioned in a recent news article (http://spacenews.com/moon-express-releases-details-of-its-lunar-lander-missions/). However the official website of Moon Express (http://www.moonexpress.com/robotic-explorers/) does not have a MX 1E explorer listed, there is only a MX 1 explorer.

There is a quote from a 2015 news article:
Quote
Moon Express plans to use the launches to send to the moon new, smaller versions of its MX-1 lunar lander.
-source [http://spacenews.com/moon-express-buys-rocket-lab-launches-for-lunar-missions/ (http://spacenews.com/moon-express-buys-rocket-lab-launches-for-lunar-missions/)]

From this quote I assume the MX 1E is a modified version of the MX 1 for the Electron Rocket.

Digging through the Moon Express twitter I found a quote seemingly confirming the MX-1E designation:

There is a thread on Moon Express (https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=33428.0;topicseen)
Perhaps your answers are there.
Posts are from 12/2013 until 8/2017, nothing recent

More up to date information (8 hours old, from the NewSpace 2018 meeting):

Ben Roberts, Moon Express: our first mission should be late next year; depends on customers and launch providers. #NewSpace2018

Roberts: we’ll likely use the Electron launches under contract for orbital missions versus lunar landers. That’s based on NASA’s desire to maximize landed mass for its Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. #NewSpace2018

With LauncherOne MX1 should be capable of its max 30kg payload. May even be able to use LauncherOne for MX2.
