Anyone know anything about NASA or LM Internet Collaberative Environment
or knowledge exchange system that may be used for CEV development?

or will it be the old standard  "Development by Email"/

ICE has many tools.  The knowledge exchange is with a program called Windchill.  Requirements are documented in a program called Cradle.  Cradle is OK for data management but it is a little unwieldy for day to day work.  I mostly export the data from Cradle into Word or Excel so its easier to work with.

Windchill is a nightmare.  Its a bottomless pit of data and people have only been storing files on it for less than a year.  I can't imagine what a mess it will be with 5 years worth of stuff.  Its got folders and projects, all of which are controlled access due to the various contractors.  Even if you can find what your looking for, you get hit with an 'access denied'.  Windchill only works as a data exchange system if you send the URL by email.  So in a way, you still have to use email, but at least you don't have to attach files which bog down your inbox.  Assuming of course you have access to the content of the folder.

We have a running joke around here; If someone asks for some information that you are not ready to send yet, you just say "Its on Windchill".  Its kind of like "the checks in the mail".

And I thought WIndchill was only our nightmare ............ sorry to hear it is NASA-wide. We had some pretty good websites/search engines for all of our ISS data for a long time. Then Windchill came along and I swear to god it is more efficient to track down a designer via the whitepages in his hometown and ask a question than to find it in Windchill. If we intend on using this tool in the future it will be NASA's demise!

Its not NASA-wide, its only Constellation.  Unless there are other programs out there that use Windchill?
