Title: Flame Trench Q&A
Post by: ZachS09 on 01/12/2015 04:42 pm
I have a question about the flame trench at Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral, which is where the Falcón 9 rockets launch from. Why install these metal bars at the edge of the original duct? Is that where the water deluge comes from?

show a pic of what you mean.

Also, couldn't this have gone in the Spacex Q&A vs making a dedicated thread?

Is the SpaceX Q&A thread on one of the last pages of the topic?

It is for water sound suppression.  The flame duct is actually a dry without water deluge.
