Danish rocket amateurs are gearing up for a 90 second full burn static test of their liquid fueled HEAT-2X rocket this coming Sunday, May 25th, 2014 @ 14:00 CEST.
Staking in the test stand was completed last night - I have attached a picture posted on their Facebook page.
They aim to launch this from the Baltic See during summer. If performing as expected it should reach an apogee above the Kármán line.

It was a scrub. The LOX overpressure burst disc ruptured.
As the LOX pressure sensor failed to operate, they where building tank pressure in the blind.

The main theory when I left the area saturday.
Moisture in the LOX pressure sensor assembly, froze to ice and rendered the sensor inoperable.
If that was the case, then it is highly likely, that it was leftovers from the flowtest earlyer in the week.
Main reason for only one pressure sensor in each tank? Funding.
As far as I know, there will not be any attempts, in the next 2 weekends, as the area is used for other activities. I don't think they will try on a weekday, as the publicity gain wil be lower.
I wish them luck and hope they will do it, on a day, where I can attend.
This was the first time for me and I am hooked. It was such a kick.

HEAT2X Static Test

On August 16th 2014 CS performed a static test of its HEAT-2X/TM65LE engine. The engine is a regeneratively cooled bi-prop engine running on liquid oxygen and ethanol. Sadly, the cooling jacket ruptured shortly into the mainstage burn spilling burning ethanol all over the pad and causing a major fire on the pad.

Come and see us test rocket engines

On Saturday May 2nd we’ll testfire several rocket engines between 12.00 and 16.00.
The plan is to test the first engine at approx. 13:00 after that two or three engines more with about one hour in between.
We invite you to watch the test live at our facility. You can buy tickets here.
If you’re a Copenhagen Suborbitals Supporter you have free access. Please register here by choosing the “CS Supporter” ticket. It’s still free but it helps us to know how many will attend the test.

Members of the press are welcome as always. Please contact [email protected] for further information.
It will be possible to buy coffee, soft drinks and snacks. At this event we cannot offer any kind of hot meals. Therefore we encourage you to bring your own.
We will provide a live and commented broadcast of the preparations and the tests on Youtube.

As you may be aware, all activities related to rocketscience is prone to be hit by scrubs and delays. Lots of things and events has to occur timely to be able to ignite a rocketengine, be it static tests like these, or a real launch. Delays and scrubs may thus happen, and will be published here on the webiste and our social media channels.
We will keep updating this post with information about the tests and testday – so stay tuned.

I'm pretty sure that's just a coincidence, Soheil. Although it's reassuring for both programs if both sets of engineers found themselves going down (at least superficially) similar lines.
