This is a follow-on mission of the Ziyuan-3 satellite launched in early 2012.
-
Delayed to 2015, this might be one of the first launch of the new year?
-
This launch seems to have dropped off the radar ...... ?
-
Looks like ZY-3 #2 might be going up pretty soon..... ;) (source (http://bbs.9ifly.cn/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=11395&pid=367647))
Can you tell us how soon? Days, few weeks, a month?
-
Some rumors on 9ifly Chinese Space Forum points to the possibility that this may launch in the next days.
-
This launch will now only take place in 2016.

This launch will now only take place in 2016.
It always seems to be 6-12 months into the future! ;)

I know Satellogic's CEO. They are planning a 19 satellite constellation. I will find out more and work on it.

Hello
Any news about Aleph-1?
-
Aleph-1 is not a payload of its own, but ŅuSat-1 & 2 are the first satellites in the Aleph-1 constellation.
The ŅuSats are secondary payloads foing into a 500 km SSO together with a yet unknown payload (likely a Yaogan).
Here is the information about these satellites, that i currently have: http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sdat/nusat-1.htm

Thank You very much

Thank support Sasori

Little more news:
"Argentinian Earth observation satellites NuSat-1 and NuSat-2 will be launched on 30th April 2016 on atop of Long March 4B rocket from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. They will be part of Aleph constellation of commercial Earth observation satellites by startup Satellogic Company. Unique feature of Aleph constellation will be commercially available real-time Earth imaging. For founder of Satellogic, Emiliano Kargieman, ultimate goal is constellation of 300 satellites. NuSat-1 and NuSat-2 are beginning of the fleet - they are small spacecrafts with weight at 35 kg and with dimensions at 75 cm x 40 cm x 43 cm (H x W x L). Both will be equipped in camera operating in visible light and infrared. Onboard U/V linear transponder provided by AMSAT-LU (amateur radio satellite organization in Argentina) for communication with radio amateur community; additional U/V transponder (2 W of output power) for 8 GHz downlink and 2 GHz uplink will be operating on 100 kHz bandwidth. For backup telemetry, designers are considering UHF transponder. Long March 4B will be utilized for lifting both satellites into 500 km SSO orbit with inclination at 97.5°. Long March 4B is usually utilized for LEO and SSO missions. It is liquid fueled rocket with three stages operating since 1999."

According to our Chinese friends 9ifly space forum, the launch of ZY-3 (2) will take place at 11:17 local time on May 30, 2016 (03:17UTC).

LUSEX (LU Satellite EXperiment) is ŅuSat-1. Countdown page can be found at http://lusex.org.ar/

Does anyone has any specific information regarding the Ziyuan-3 (2) satellite? Is this satellite very similar to the firsf ZY-3? Thank you!

Resolution of the stereo mapping camera was improved from 3.5 to 2.7m (see http://www.chinaspaceflight.com/satellite/Ziyuan/Ziyuan3-02.html).

Well the relationship between ZY-3 and the Argentine satellites aren't very clear (e.g. I never saw any official confirmation that ZY-3 is launching today :-X) and there hasn't been anything new reported since the posts above, so don't be surprised if nothing happened in the next hour or two.... ::)
Regardless, I'll be looking for any launch indications. ;)

Thanks GP. I have Rui's article standing by....
-
ZY-3 is operated by SASMAC
The first ZY-3 was managed by SASTIND (the military) but ZY-3 02 is operational and management is by SASMAC

Sorry for the late reply, but Chinese media has now confirmed launch sucess and the earlier reported launch time. Interestingly the 2 South American passengers were reported as coming from Uruguay (maybe because they were built there?)....
-
So Ziyuan-3-2 was launched at 03:17 UTC this morning exactly at the same time as for Ziyuan-3 on January 9, 2012

Ņusat-1 is called Fresco and ŅuSat-2 is called Batata. A traditional home desert is slices of fresh cheese (queso Fresco) and jelly of sweet potatoes (dulce de Batata). So it is a reference to this homely dessert. Satellogic are amazing at naming their sats.

Satellogic CEO tweet (https://twitter.com/earlkman/status/737135546309455872):
We have confirmation from the groundstation in Bariloche: Fresco & Batata are healthy and sending strong signals. The launch is 100% success

Ah that explains the numerous "launched fresh and sweet potatoes" on Twitter translations! ;D

Dulce means sweet, so "dulce de batata" translates directly as sweet potato sweet. These guys have a snack for making translations hit recursive loops. I'll have to interview them again just for that.

and launch mission codename was 05-51

Is there any first image posted from Nusat satellites? On their twitter accounts they post party pictures and telemetries only but there is no confirmation of satellite health as an image of earth.
