Title: NASA B-52 008 Q&A

Anyone know why they retired 008, was it just maintenance costs?

It was going to be replaced by a B-52H, but the latter was returned to the AF due to lack of need. Aerospace research had taken a huge hit, and there just weren't any projects that needed a B-52 for NASA.
