As a scale modeler and a System Engineer who has worked NPOESS/JPSSS for the past 5 1/2 years, I'm celebrating the launch of NPP aboard the last manifested Delta II by building a 1/72 scale model of the Delta II launching the mission. I'd like to dispaly this model on a 1/72 SLC-2W but have been able to find very few references to help me with the pad. Does anyone out there have any photos/drawings they could share of the pad that would help me construct at least teh pad (and possibly the LUT)? TIA - Gordo

There are some site pictures in the ULA mission booklets. The Delta II Users Guide

has a rudimentary description of the site with a few outline drawings of the service structures. Then maybe you can 'eyeball' the site on Google Earth, put it all together and be reasonably accurate.

Thanks for the reply, I'd already scoured the ULA site and grabbed a copy of the users guide to help me detail the payload fairing. A lot of good info there. However there's not enough (any) detail on the pad hold downs, flame deflectors, etc., on which to base a scale model.

Delta doesn't use hold downs. The main engine can't lift the vehicle alone.
Go to KSC multimedia and seach on a SLC-2W mission.

There are many photos of the vehicles being erected and of the MST/Pad/FUT
