Problem is...how much more (about $15 billion is one estimate) and that's never going to happen in a month of Sundays :(

I saw the testimony on NASA TV yeterday, the context of the conversation would be funded at the levels in the NASA Authorization act.

Is that $1 billion more per year, or in total over the next five years?

BTW, I made this chart of the post-Apollo NASA budget a while back; seems pertanent...

Funding at the authorization act levels would be 1.1 Billion more for FY 2007 alone, plus additional funds for the years after that.

Just discussing the idea of having CEV ready for 2011 leads me to believe more strongly that the Axe is even closer to falling on STS.  I have thought since RTF last year that the brain trust in NASA and the White House would like nothing more than to find a way to cancel STS outright (hopefully with out loss of life.)

Moving up to 2011 would mean some very serious acceleration.  Starting Yesterday.
