Yep, you heard me right. Rollout of Shuttle Atlantis has been confirmed for next Thursday.
Updates will appear here.
-
Problem is, it's really just for testing right now. We'll roll back in a few weeks after.
-
We shouldn't tell anyone and confused the hell out of the media!
-
Chris...
August 4, not July 4!!! ;)
-
Always a bad sign when I don't even know what month I'm in ;)
-
Still rollout Thursday?
-
What orbiter was going to play the backup orbiter (on 45 day notice) when Atlantis was going to launch on the original schedule?
ie.. STS-121 had what orbiter as its STS-300 mission?
-
Discovery would be Atlantis' back up on STS-301 should Atlantis have launched in September.
-
Rollout cancelled. Soonest is now 0001 Sunday.
-
Ah well. Hey, so they could be rolling out Atlantis whilst Discovery is landing?
-
Just hanging around.... (Image- KSC/NASA)
-
Flightstar, has she had her SSME replaced now?
-
Yes. She's ready to roll - just for testing of course. We'll be waiting till Discovery lands I'm sure.
-
According to SG on SDC, rollout is cancelled until further notice now. I'll see if I can get a more specific time, but looks like we're not seeing much happen for a while.
-
Well, officially, the target is a short window starting Sept. 22
-
August 17 rollout is the latest.
-
If that's the case then the ET is staying in the stack, and if THAT's the case then maybe there's a chance of launch!
-
Well it's 'for' an APU hot fire the following day, so don't get excited about Atlantis staying at the pad for the September launch, as much as we'd all love that to be the case.
