It's wakeup time!
The wakeup music is the theme from Wallace and Gromit for Steve.

The OBSS is being maneuvered over port wing right now. Inspections of shuttle's nose has been completed few minutes ago. Earlier the starboard side of Atlantis had been checked. So far everything goes without problems. They are ahead of schedule I guess.
In attachment screens from nose cap survey :

LDRI seems in full working order doesn't it.
-
A bit of a mark there. Although we (myself on this one) should remember the LDRI images via NASA TV can show some strange markings, whereas the DAT presentations show there's nothing there. Still...
-
Closer view. Still over this panel.
-
And moving on.
-
-
Way ahead of schedule.
-
-
30 minutes to go.
-
-
And that's complete. They now have all the coverage from the working PTU for the OBBS.
-
Berthing OBSS.
-
-
20-25 minutes of replays required by DAT. Rest was recieved live.
-
All of the FCR in fits of laughter over something. Kenn opts to use a lifeline.
Anyone catch what that was all about?
-
I know were half way through the day but I just noticed the TV schedule hadn't been posted ...

We probably have seen the last maneuver of that manipulator...

Talking about STS-135? ;)
I would like to be, Philip ;D
It was almost a moot point to mention, but I remember a previous thread when we got "so what's the point of being so far away if they find damage" being they have that option of returning if they find a serious problem (as highly unlikely as that is).
-
SRMS berthed and playback of some survey footage that couldn't be sent down live at the time in work.

The SRMS berthed ...
-
Shift leaving as they hand over to Entry tomorrow.
Paraphrased, but wonderful comments from Mike S:
"We did some maths and by landing Atlantis will have travelled 120 million miles."
"It's because of folks like you and those that built and looked after her and her sister ships that we can peacefully explore. We look forward to the safe return of our fair ship Atlantis."

Her final hours with the orbital outpost have earned praise from engineers, managers and astronauts alike, most of whom have moved away from the politically correct “it” to the traditionally correct “her” when speaking directly of the famous spacecraft.
They really are for this mission. It's a nice touch. Always found "it" to be disrespectful.
I fear it will be decades before we have famous, named spaceships. No one is going to remember the serial number of once-used Dragon.
-
Yeah, that's why I wrote it Martin ;) And I agree, it is a nice touch.
MSB in 30 mins. Post MMT two hours later.
Going to start drafting up the next article.

Still not over yet, we might get another year of shuttle yet.

Going to the nose cap survey replays now
-
MSB starting.
-
Mike (reviews the inspection process) - was a great survey, exceeded the timeline, a couple of hours ahead. Finished 2.5 hours early. Over the course of the next day they will provide a thumbs up on Atlantis for Entry. Expected by crew lunch tomorrow.
The crew is doing exceedingly well. ISS is preparing for Soyuz 21 return.
Notes Atlantis will pass through the 120 million mile milestone.
-
Mike C on consumables.
Mike S: Enough for EOM+3 A lot of capability, a lot more than we had. We launched on time, and margin for pad hold without topoff we took to orbit with us. Cyro was the driver, so we've got EOM+3 capability. Friday pick-em, Saturday systems day.
Robert on weather for KSC Wednesday.
Mike S: Typical for Sping. Change of low clouds and showers. We may get lucky and land on the first attempt, we'll just have to see how that plays out.
On which orbit the 120m miles is passed - they don't know yet.
-----
Basic questions on inspections.
Mike S notes DAT are a very talented team.
Marcia on it's finally hitting you it's Atlantis' last flight.
Mike S: I've always been a goal driven person. From an engineer to a FD. With a limited number of flights left it's hit me. It is possible we'll fly another flight with Atlantis depending on the budget.
Team did an excellent job. Atlantis has performed virtually flawlessly. It's been a real pleasure to see it all play out.
There's a lot of reasons I want to see the STS-132 crew and Atlantis land. Was remarkable to see Atlantis land (on his previous role). Incredible sight and gives a sense of accomplishment and closure. You get to bond with people.
Everyone asking about Atlantis and personal thoughts.
Mike: The shuttle has been a remarkable vehicle as serving as a peaceful means of exploring, and Atlantis in particular with MIR and ISS and also DOD mission tasks. Atlantis has been a peacekeeper, it's been a great thing to see, which is just might thought on Atlantis and her history. Whether we get additional flights remains to be seen but I'm glad to be where we are with this mission.
-
Q: Consumable Status ?
A: Enough for up to EOM +3 as they launched on first attempt
Limiting consumable is Lithum hydroxide and cryogenic oxygen
Q: Weather forcast for landing at KSC on Wednesday ?
A Chance of low clouds and showers as are typical for a spring landing
Q: What orbit does 120m mile mark occur ?
A: Late in mission, doesn't know exact orbit
Q: Why does the LDRI flicker and explain how it works
A: Two modes 2D and 3D, 2D doesn't flicker 3D does, allows you to see depth of field rather than just height and width
Q: How many people are invoveled in clearing orbiter for entry
A: Image analyists work with heat sheild experts. Therea are 2 levels of inspection.
Level 1 looks for areas of interest, then they go back and review each area of interest.
Level 2 - unsure ?
90% of time using a different tool to look at an area of interest clears it
Q: Any areas of interest on heat shield ?
A: Not currently
Q: Is it finally hitting you that its Atlantis's last flight ?
A: Yes, as its probably Mikes last flight as lead flight director
Q: Have you ever came for a shuttle landing before and are you coming this time as it might be Atlantis's last landing ?
A: Been once before on STS 129
Q: What was it like to see Atlantis leave the ISS for the last time and anything special planned to celebrate when Atlantis lands ?
A: Seeing her back away was a welcomed milestone, planning to spend time with people that planned and prepared mission
Q: Regarding landing is Friday pick them day and Saturday Systems Day ?
A: Yes
-
Ha, nicely done Racshot, that filled in some gaps.

Post MMT coming up. Busy with news coming in, so if someone could keep an eye on anything interesting, otherwise we'll have John44's video before long.
-
Sorry missed the first 5 minutes only caught a few questions:
Updated from the video posted:
Extremely pleased with accomplishments on docked mission
Atlantis is performing quite well and is being reconfigured for entry and landing
Crew is doing well and have completed the final inspection
Q: Would you say this is the cleanest flight for Atlantis and the shuttle program ?
A: Hard to say until vehicle is on ground, but it looks to be in the family of the cleanest vehicles. All the vehicles have been outstanding in the past 12 months
Q: Will the landing be extra significant as it might be the last landing of Atlantis ?
A: Not for him, all landings are important
Q: Can you give us a status update on payloads and shuttle processing for 133 and 144 ?
A: Targeted launch date for 133 is Sept 16th 2010
Discoverys processing going well but there are some challenges with payload.
A week or two after Atlantis lands they will do a full evaluation of STS 133 and 134 manifests
Q: Any change in plans to leave the OBSS on station ?
A: No the plan is still to have the last shuttle mission leave the OBSS on station
Q: How far into June can you go without word about an extra flight ?
A: Can go quite far with Atlantis on the processing front until they need to know if its going to fly. Would like to make a decision in June / July time frame as they need to train the crew and ground controllers as well as loading software etc
Q: How far into July can you go ?
A: Hard to say will look at it in the next few weeks depends a little on what happens to target launch dates for STS 133 and 134

Yet another "Soichi Shot" - Atlantis during flyaround.
You know, I'm really going to miss Soichi’s photos when he leaves Station next week - we need to start training his replacement!

Wow, another great one. Yeah, I'll miss his great shots too.
Of course, as any photographer will tell you, the hardest part of a shot is waiting for the perfect moment. So...with all these great shots, what is it he's doing up there besides taking photos? LOL (j/k).

Starting with the Colbert report, Garrett Reisman has his Wriststrong bracelet on
-
and we lost the MPC for a second
-
Well it's Colbert himself at least ;D And he has an audience in.
"Greetings Spacemen, heros all".
"Greetings people of the Earth." HA!
Enjoys saying the words "Commander Ham".
Lost Ku and says "I can't see you, but I assume space still exists." - and they are back. Asks how the mission is going. Outlines it with the additional of "and we defeated the forces of evil."
Replaced batteries on the shuttle (he means ISS).
They keep losing Ku, this is getting a bit painful.
I wish they would correct him on "repairing the shuttle."
Suspicous accent aimed at Piers. "Is he riding in the space shuttle or the space lorry" lol.

Brilliant interview by the ABC guy. Distracted from transcribing, but I'm sure Ron's recording (and John 44). Shame someone's actually told them to stop calling Atlantis a she - and whoever that was, you sir are a walking own goal for public outreach (outrage ;))

Event with Colbert was hell funny... looking forward to see a video of that again! :)
Ha, I knew there will be uploaded some video, thanks Ron!!!

Was this done by direction, or did Captain Bowen mis-speak when he used "it?"

MSB coming up. We have an article ready to go for the TPS clearance (just don't want to jump the gun as far as the MMT making it official - have to follow their process).
-
Tony S:
Atlantis and her crew had a very successful morning, preparing for the return trip home. FCS and RCS all nominal. Performed landing sims.
SIMPLEX burn on OMS coming up. Crew sleep at 3:20pm Central.
Late Inspection: Prelim shows no issues with TPS, will be discussing that with the MMT for official go for Entry.
Weather: There's an influence near KSC with a chance of showers, but it's a 50/50 chance with KSC weather. Trending favorably.
Good for EOM+3. KSC only on EOM. KSC only on EOM+1. Pick em day on EOM+2. May change.
Looking at KSC 33 for landing.
-
Robert up first on crew getting ahead of schedule during the mission.
Tony: The deorbit prep timeline is pretty busy, they'll keep on the schedule. There's a lot of things we have to have timed.
And on Atlantis' potential final flight - sense of pride/sorrow? (Robert, you call her an it! :o ;))
Tony: It's been a great ride, but our focus right now is to get Atlantis on the ground. We'll have time to celebrate after wheel's stop.
Marcia on Weather:
Tony: It's KSC and there's a low parked out at the Atlantic. We're going into it 50/50. Edwards has a chance of showers (but not going there).
Beyond tomorrow, KSC continues to improve. Edwards is looking good also.
Tariq on weather and not calling up Edwards for two days.
Tony: Normally all things considered we try for KSC only on the first day. Things are looking really well to support KSC for the first two days, but we'll continue to re-evaluate.
Bill on weather - KSC specific.
Tony: Updated weather is likely to remove chance of showers on Wednesday.
On water to Friday.
Tony: We have seven opportunities with water. We're in a pretty good situation.
Over.

"Houston, I'm not wearing any pants"- Stephen Colbert
Finally had a chance to listen to the audio, and bitterly disappointed that they cut off the "not wearing any pants" comment. ;)
Hilarious interview. I hope NASA use him more often. (Was he serious about going into training? I know he already has the pumpkin suit).
