I guess that I must have missed out on the explanation about if this will be a film camera, a live video feed or a video that captures to data to be downlinked later. Also, I must also have missed out somewhere that if live feed, will it be included in the various shuttle views during liftoff or like the SRB's, be delivered later.

From the article: "....with the subsequent video likely to be downloaded to the DAT (Damage Assessment Team) on Flight Day 2."

Can we consider this video requested for L2 already?? ;)

It might be rolled into a flight day highlights too, no way to know yet i guess

It's cool they are still making the effort to check the ramps even when the last launch was so clean.

This was put in motion prior to the last launch - and having one clean IFR doesn't mean the issue is completely solved.

Is the minicam capable of recording re-entry? Although I imagine that there might not be a great deal to see...

As soon as I read that I thought of STS-114's re-entry video on L2, as that was a fixed view from a camera immediately out of the window - could be real close to what we're talking about here. However, I do know it was lower down on the window, whereas this one will be higher up to "look over" the tank. I'll go about creating a clip for those without L2 to show the angle.
