Title: Rockets Placed In Storage.
Post by: Stan Black on 02/07/2009 01:48 pm
Found this...

http://www.gostorgi.ru/tender/7-243660.html

Mentions an 8K78M, 11A511U and 8K82K / 8K82KM (four rockets), Briz-KM and a 11S861 to be placed in storage.

Anyone know if it is still current?

It looks like a contract from Roskosmos to refurbish some government rockets that are past their shelf life.

From what I understand:

Repair and warranty extension for several Kosmos-3M
Storage of one Molniya-M
Storage of one Soyuz-U
Something to do with one set of "stand equipment units" for the Molniya-M
Storage of four Protons (K and KM) variants, and one Briz-KM (not sure about this one)
Storage of two Block DM-2 upper stages
Storage of 4975 kilograms of hydrazine fuel

The storage contracts seem to start on 5 December, which is odd because as far as I know, there is only one Molniya left, and that is scheduled for launch this year.
