I don't think that's your anti-virus software, I think it's something on www.federalspace.ru trying to fool you.

Some really great pictures in the latest reports, including the adapter to the Soyuz vehicule. A question too: barring problems with the modernized version, will this be the last unmodernized Progress to fly?

No, two more spacecrafts - Progress M-67 and Progress M-SO2.

They haven't for any of the recent launches, so I don't think so.

Oh! What's Vesti's coverage like? I'm assuming it'll be shortly before launch just for the first part of first stage? I'm trying to work out if this is worth making a live coverage thread.

Some information (in russian) provided by TsUP about the upcoming launch.

No idea, I think the first time a live Vesti coverage was provided was with M-65, and I lost the event... :-\ Perhaps anik knows more details, I've been searching in Novosti and Vesti but nothing obvious came up.

I can only get about 10 seconds of video before it freezes right now....
Works fine for me with Firefox and the WMP plugin in this link: http://www.vesti.ru/videos?vid=onair

Same thing here with FF 3.06 with WMP plug-in. No buffering issues or anything. Great quality for a net broadcast! Beats Yahoo!'s NASA TV 1.2 MB/s feed by miles!

Perhaps it is distance, I am across the pond after all.....
It is working perfectly for me in Houston, Texas.

According to my records the previous launch of a Progress vehicle from LC31 PU-6 was on October 27th, 1992 when a 11A511U2 Soyuz-U2 (?15000-061) launched Progress M-15 to the Mir space station.

Yes. in 1992 there were three Propress lunches from Pad 31/6, Progress M-13 in June, Progress M-14 in August and finally Progress M-15 on October 27.

Press reports say to expect some manned Soyuz launches from 31 also this year. Might be a lot harder on visitors in the viewing gallery.

That's when the LV changes from Soyuz-FG to Soyuz-2 since LC-1/5 isn't compatible with Soyuz-2.

Good work Ron with the video. We'll keep this thread going for the docking, which will be a live thread with NASA TV coverage.

Is it possible to get the exact launch time in format 0549:46.XXXUTC and the serial number of the 11A511U Soyuz-U launcher?
Thanks!

Usually, the launcher integration is made in one day.
But for this flight, it seems that it has been made in two steps :
- integration of KGCh with 3rd stage on 6th february
- integration on 3rd and 2nd stages on 7th february
Is this right ? And why ?

At 08 hours 49 minutes 46 seconds Moscow Time transport cargo vehicle Progress M-66 was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome as per Mission Program and the commitments undertaken by the Russian side under the International Space Station (ISS) Project.
The launch objective is to deliver onboard the ISS various cargoes, required to keep the station operating in a manned mode and support crew life-sustaining environment and operating conditions. Reserves of oxygen, air, food products, fuel, consumables, apparatus, equipment, on-board documentation and e.t.c. were launched into orbit from the Earth.
Total cargoes mass is about 2,4 t.
The transport cargo vehicle was inserted into reference near-earth orbit with the following parameters: inclination of 51,63 ; minimum altitude of 192,5 km; maximum altitude of 249,6 km; orbital period of 88,62 min.

04-05-2009 Progress M-66 Leaves the Station
http://www.roscosmos.ru/NewsDoSele.asp?NEWSID=6130
Progress M-66 integrated mission with the International Space Station is almost over.
Today ISS-19 crew finalizes accomodation of the disposed-of cargo in the vehicle. Tomorrow, the crew will prepare Progress M-66 for the autonomous flight, close transfer hatches and perform their leak-check. The Progress has been attached to the Pirs docking port since Feb. 13.
At 15:15 GMT, on May 6, the command to undock will be issued. Departure of the Progress from the Pirs docking compartment is to occur in 3 min after the `go`. The autonomous mission will last until May 18. During this stage, Plasma-Progress geophysical experiment is to be carried out. Then, following the commands from the Mission Control Center, the vehicle will reenter the atmosphere over the specified area of the Pacific ocean.
