Title: Soyuz Departure for ISS
Post by: flyboy7077 on 04/19/2008 02:43 am
I was a bit surprised to see the Exp-16 crew enter the Soyuz in shirt sleeves. I would have thought that it would have been easier to don the Sokol launch and entry suit in the roomier confines of the ISS. I know that they doff the suit from within the Soyuz prior to entering the ISS so there is enough room in the Habitation module, but with the limited time between crew entry and landing that it would have been simpler to don the suit where there is more room and more "helping hands". Just a thought  :)

They probably want to limit the time they spend suited up and strapped in. The Sokols can't be too comfortable the way they hunch you up.
At least the expedition 15 also departed ISS in shirt sleeves.
