Title: Soyuz Training Question
Post by: TALsite on 02/27/2008 05:27 pm
In this ESA-Photo, astronaut Pedro Duque is training to use a laser rangefinder.
I’d like to ask experts of this forum if this is an Orbital Module simulator, if the window is the front window of a Soyuz TMA OM, and if the cosmonaut is able to dock with the Station using these controls.
Thanks

The controls do looks like the one used to manualy fly Soyuz, however for a manual docking I'll expect them to use the Vzor (periscope) located in the SA (Reentry module). Not sure what these picture is showing here ... :frown:

On this picture, you can see cylindrical blister with a round window for the laser rangefinder.
