Six experimental themes for the Asian Tri-Zero G2022 scheduled to be conducted at the Kibo Japanese Experiment Module during the long-term stay on the ISS after this fall were selected from among many ideas. All are very interesting contents. The experiment proposal is also open to the public, so please have a look. I'm excited to see what the result will be.

ATZG2022 Experiment theme decided / Simple space experiment for young people by Astronaut Wakata, who is scheduled to stay on the ISS from this autumn #Asian Try Zero G2022 . We have selected 6 experimental themes from many ideas! Experiment proposals for each team are also released. I'm looking forward to the implementation at “Kibo

At the test facility simulating the airlock of the space station at NASA Johnson Space Center, we conducted a fit check of the spacesuit and training on the work inside the airlock using spacesuits and equipment for extravehicular activities equivalent to spacecraft. It was a valuable training opportunity to check the display operation, behavior, alarm sound, etc. of the actual space suit system.

The USOS members of Expedition 68 have no prior EVA experience.
Seeing that there are two EVAs scheduled in August, I wonder if one of them (or both) will be performed in the crew exchange period, to take advantage of Lindgren's (or soon Cristoforetti) EVA experience, being paired with one of the newcomers.
The last time an EVA was performed by two rookies was in March 2019 (Hague-McClain), but I don't know if there is a rule about this, or if it doesn't even matter...

I know Wakata has been involved in EVA training, but I don't know which astronaut was paired with him.
Does anyone know who would be assigned to perform EVA-81 and EVA-82?

I seem to recall hearing that the EV1/EV2 roles are pretty much interchangeable, and NASA is keen to give as many astronauts as possible the opportunity to be EV1. I don't think EV1 still carries the same "Chief Spacewalker" status as it did in Shuttle days, being more a case of the one who opens and closes the hatch. I would imagine that, regardless of whether or not you've done an EVA before, it's a case of "if you're trained, you're trained".

Wakata did train for EVA in advance of Exp 19/20 and Exp 38/39, as well as this one.

See how the direction of sunlight, shadows, and nighttime lighting conditions affect the visual information needed to capture the ISS Cargo Vehicle with the Canadarm2, and how operational procedures need to be addressed. The training was conducted at NASA Johnson Space Center. The graphic simulation model is "Kounotori".

Cristoforetti will assume command of Exp 68a when Artemyev departs next month.
She'll then pass command on to Prokopyev for Exp 68b when Crew-4 leaves in early to mid October.
Prokopyev will command Exp 68b through his own return to Earth in early 2023.
Bowen will command Exp 69a.
Kononenko will command Exp 69b.
