Does anyone know where I can find this image (below, arrow pointing to it) online to use as a desktop wallpaper?

Well, there are similar images at spaceflight.nasa.gov.  Check under the Gallery for the individual shuttle and ISS missions.  I don' t particularly like their navigation system, but you'll eventually find a sunrise or sunset image.  They are pretty spectacular.

Edit: As for that particular image that you pointed to, it won't be on line unless as a screen grab by someone, or unless an astronaut happened to be taking a picture of that scene with the electronic still cameras.  That particular image was recorded by a camera in the shuttle payload bay, whereas the pics that I pointed you to in the spaceflight.nasa.gov site are from electronic still cameras.  (And they do take sunrise or sunset pics from time to time).

I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Those are the images that the machine that processes the D/L video displays during LOS.   Some of you might remember it used to display SMPTE color bars.  These images replaced the color bars- they look better.

Here's a .zip folder with all 4 of the ACTUAL files displayed by the VPS workstation.

I hope this works.   Enjoy.

Oh, I like you!

I did wonder what those images were when the ISS downlink was lost.

Very nice MCC Tech! What else do you happen to have that you could share with all your new friends  ;)
