Next Generation Dynamo Machine
« on: 11/21/2021 08:49 pm »
Hi.
Looking at dynamo machine that stands in museum I asked my teacher in electric motors class, why is it so long. Because generator is connected to the motor, he replied. And no one tried to do anything about this long metal bars? he said, no.

I decided to upgrade dynamo machine and reduce the length of a rotor some how.  And it happened.

My advice:

- Don't disclose any more information on your invention in public
- Patent your idea
- Look forward to becoming a multi billionaire once you manage to build a working prototype

not the same thing.  Also, this is not the proper forum for this items.  The forum is not "NASA"

Thanks for the info.  How to contact NASA about all this.

If you really think you have something novel and has utility, then you should file a patent before talking to anyone further. In the US it is first to file. Now the bad thing about patents is they are really expensive to file, defend and maintain. You can use the inventor services to help with the patent, but I cannot vouch for the quality of those services. They have always seemed like a scam to me.

I also think that you will need to do some work to prove that your design is better than the current technology to have a patent with utility. The patent office will want to know why your design is better. The first action of the patent office is to reject a patent based on obviousness. Why is your technology surprising and better?

You may be best to keep it to your idea to yourself for a while and develop it. If you are in college or grad school perhaps it becomes a project that you can work on and then take into a university incubator for development into a product or company. (I know it can be done this way, but know nothing about the assignment of patent rights on this path)

Hi.

I decided to upgrade dynamo machine and reduce the length of a rotor some how.  And it happened.

Circumference of a drum longer than a rotor. Thus, generator will supply with more power on the output compare to classic dynamo machine. And if you rotate the drum opposite way to rotor, even more power will be generated. And if you apply neodymium magnets to it, this DC generator will compete with any A/C electrical generators on earth.

I designed that DC motor/generator in 2014. Later I found that USSR in 1986 built 4 working prototypes. One with mono magnets (neodymium) and liquid nitrogen cooled. Neodymium magnets loose their power with heat, overheat very fast and only very cold solution will make them cooled quickly.

Would be NASA interested in this?

You've re-invented the pancake machine.  Widely used in everything from wind turbines to model airplanes and drones.  There are about 20 in my house including 2 in my car and 1 in my washing machine.
