« on: 09/28/2005 08:41 am »
From the BBC,

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4286086.stm

Quote: 'Esa will ask its member states to fund a 30-40m-euro (£20-27m) preparatory study at its next ministerial meeting.'

Cheers,

Great, some more competition... its time for a race... seems like the only way there is real movement in Manned space flight, based on its history

What do we (UK) get out of it? We never seem to hear anything about ESA and yet tens of millions go to them from us. Seems a bit 'complusary'. Couldn't we spend it on something more interesting and more British?
Let's go and explore space.

Hi,

Britian doesn't contribute any money to ESA's manned spaceflight program or the ISS. See here for some figures: http://www.guardian.co.uk/spacedocumentary/story/0,2763,1118881,00.html

Cheers,
