Nothing there that astute readers of these pages don't know already, but in a neat package...  I do think that the headline is a bit scare-quotey.. spending 100M on space science against 5B isn't exactly a threat to dominance.

It is not a threat to dominance.  But even the hint of competition may push members of Congress to fund a little more.  At least that's what I'm hoping the results are.
