They'll be on NASA.gov first, And I think 'a week away' was said today.

1.  Not on L2, going to wait for NASA.gov to get them
2.  Per MSB, the card with the pictures is in the Soyuz, and wont be up for at least a week.

Writing an article focusing (no pun intended) on the DLI ops. Doesn't really hit you until you get into writing the articles, but this is yet another milestone, and there's something nice about Endeavour leaving the ISS with a parting gift - in a "you look after our Canadian friend, I've got to go away now".

*Sobs* - No, not really, but it is another one of those "bittersweet" milestones.

Yeah, to add to Ron's post - the plan was to wait for NASA.gov to reveal them, make a big fanfare out of it, one centralized point, goes viral/mass media, public interest BOOM and so on.

We pretty much know we'd have a route of getting them first, so it was a decision that had to be made (and on advise from another site, incidentially, who I respect on such matters). We'd still go for the raw massive dump of all the images later on, so everyone wins.

There is still the question of if some (not all) NASA PAO even want to make a fanfare out of the footage, so we'll play it in real time, as the response to Marcia's question about just that at the MSB was very weak (no mention of even a presser for when they go on).

We get a firehose of top content for L2 anyway, so holding back on this one content element - for the aforementioned reason - is still our current plan. Let's hope NASA make a big deal out of it next week.
