Ok, so all the amazing people and me have been proven wrong about our ‘22 optimism.

In the context of developing any launch vehicle, much less a groundbreaking reusable one, a one year day delay is a tiny rounding error.

What will ‘23 bring ?

It's the Flavour-Aid that you have to watch out for.

They could have tried last year with the earlier version with version 1 Raptors, but they had to await FFA approval.  So they built this ship with newer versions of Raptor.  If they could have launched earlier, these problems could have been worked out.

Eeergo, I know you are pessimistic about Starship and very pro-SLS.  It has always shown in your posts.  You are also very optimistic of New Glenn and Blue Origin.  Don't know why.  However, SpaceX has a proven track record of fixing problems and moving forward as shown by Falcon 9.  Now it is the most reliable launcher on earth.

If R2s were like this, imagine with far less proven R1s and a much more inadequate pad. Plus of course we know FAA approval was just a distraction last year, as B7 was not even ready. Just stop with the conspiracies. Launch was on 2Q2023, and not somewhen else according to biased assessments.

As for the personal profiling, apart from the inappropriateness, you'd quite wrong. For starters, I dislike BO (and CEO) and I admire SpaceX's Falcon/Dragon programs (although I do detest their CEO). So it's quite inaccurate to say I'm very optimistic of them, especially since given the lack of hardware and the SpaceX-wannabee attitude they sometimes display I just glance at their subforums. I just dislike the frequent sealioning and strident kool-aid drinking against reasoned critical analysis that seems to accompany Starship (and generally any Musk endeavor) everywhere. Plus as I've repeated many times, Falcon isn't Starship.

On the other hand, I know you're extremely optimistic to the point of wishful thinking about SpaceX, it has always shown in your posts, including repeating conspirational statements that have gotten called off, even deleted, by mods before. Don't know why.

Since the Starship had its first launch today, many users who answered the poll question didn't think that the Starship's first flight would be delayed to early 2023 and may have been too exuberant about the prospects of Starship having its first launch last year.
