China's new ocean-monitoring satellite HY-1D has passed factory tests, paving way for its launch at a suitable time, the Ministry of National Resources said Saturday.

Very strange time for Haiyang. Earlier birds were launched at 01:50, 03:27, 22:57, 03:15 and 22:57 UTC.

CASC reported that HY-1D will operate in an SSO with LTAN of 13:30, working in pair with HY-1C (LTDN = 10:30). The launch time is thus similar to similar "afternoon SSO" satellites launches out of there like FY-3B/D.

Well, you are right. The expected launch time fits the 13:30 LTAN.
